More than 500 physicians, researchers, and healthcare leaders from across Africa are expected to gather in Mombasa later this month for a landmark event that aims to shape the future of healthcare across the continent.
The Kenya Association of Physicians (KAP) together with the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACOP) will co-host the 10th ECSACOP and 28th KAP Annual Scientific Conferences from August 27 to 30, 2025, at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort in Mombasa.
With the theme “Fostering Regional Partnerships for Health Innovation and Research in Africa,” the conference comes at a critical time. Africa is facing increasingly complex health challenges ranging from emerging infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and workforce shortages to the persistent strain on healthcare systems. These challenges demand collaborative and innovative approaches to ensure sustainable health outcomes for millions across the continent.
The gathering will serve as a platform for experts to exchange knowledge, share research findings, and forge stronger cross-border partnerships. Delegates are expected to deliberate on new strategies in healthcare innovation, training, and research while also exploring the role of technology and digital health solutions in bridging healthcare gaps.
One of the key highlights of the event will be the graduation of ECSACOP’s latest cohort of internal medicine specialists. This milestone reflects years of intensive training, mentorship, and dedication to advancing internal medicine in East, Central, and Southern Africa. The graduates are poised to play a critical role in strengthening clinical practice, driving research, and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
The conference will also celebrate the contributions of trainers, mentors, and families who have supported these specialists throughout their journey. Their collective efforts underscore the importance of building strong networks of support that can sustain the growth of healthcare leadership across the region.
As the event unfolds, attention will be on how African physicians and healthcare leaders can leverage partnerships to address shared challenges. With the right commitment to collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practices, this conference is expected to chart new pathways for advancing Africa’s health future.
By hosting this landmark gathering, Mombasa positions itself not only as a hub for tourism but also as a center for thought leadership and continental dialogue on healthcare transformation.
