The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially released the results for the March 2025 Business and Technical examinations. In a notice dated Thursday, July 10, the council instructed all heads of institutions that presented candidates to collect the results in person at New Mitihani House, Nairobi.
However, KNEC emphasized that institutions with pending examination fee arrears would not be permitted to access the results until all dues are cleared. “Institutions with examination fee arrears are expected to clear them before collecting the results,” read part of the council’s notice.
In an effort to enhance service delivery and ensure efficient handling of result-related issues, KNEC directed that all such queries be submitted exclusively online via the Query Management Information System (QMIS) portal. Only heads of institutions are authorized to raise the queries, which must be submitted within 30 days from the official release date. Any issues raised after August 22, 2025, will attract a penalty fee of KSh5,000.
The QMIS portal is accessible at https://qmis.knec.ac.ke/externalLogin, reflecting KNEC’s ongoing shift toward digital platforms to streamline examination-related services.
The exam release follows the council’s recent unveiling of a digital certificate verification platform on July 4, 2025. According to Basic Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok, the new app-based system—currently being piloted in collaboration with the Public Service Commission—is designed to curb the rampant problem of forged and altered academic documents.
“With this platform, we are saying goodbye to the era of forged certificates. Verification is now fast, secure, and accessible,” said Bitok during the launch of the Education Assessment Resource Centre (EARC) at KNEC headquarters.
The initiative comes as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) intensifies a crackdown on fake academic documents in the public service. Several individuals have already been apprehended, with numerous cases currently in court.
KNEC’s digital drive represents a broader national effort to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the education and public service sectors.
