The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the deadline for the second revision of university and college courses to June 7, 2025, giving Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) holders another opportunity to secure placements in higher learning institutions.
The move comes after the initial application window closed on May 27, with the second revision window now running from May 31 to June 7. KUCCPS is targeting candidates who did not apply during the first phase or those whose applications were unsuccessful.
In a statement, KUCCPS urged eligible KCSE holders to log onto the student portal via http://students.kuccps.net and revise their choices before the deadline. The second revision allows students to choose from a wide array of programs offered in 40 public universities, 29 private universities, and the Open University of Kenya.
The placement exercise is crucial for form four leavers who attained the required mean grade in the KCSE examination and are seeking admission to institutions of higher learning in the 2025/2026 academic cycle.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba had earlier announced the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth university placement process, noting that the KUCCPS portal would remain aligned with the annual placement calendar for the September 2025 intake.
KUCCPS, established in 2014, is mandated to coordinate the selection of students for admission to universities, teacher training colleges, national polytechnics, and TVET institutions. The agency also runs career guidance programs and maintains data related to student placements, offering critical support to both learners and the government.
With this extension, students who had missed earlier chances are being given a final opportunity to secure their future through higher education. KUCCPS has urged applicants to make informed choices based on their career interests and KCSE performance.
Students are encouraged to complete the application process early to avoid last-minute inconveniences, as the portal will close definitively on June 7, 2025.
