Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates from the 2024 class have until Saturday, to revise their university and college course selections. This comes as the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) reopened its portal for the second and final revision window, targeting students who missed the initial phase or were not successful in their first application.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, May 31, KUCCPS announced: “The KUCCPS application system is open for the Second Revision of University, College, and Programme choices. KCSE holders who have not applied for courses or those who applied but were unsuccessful are invited to apply.”
Applicants are required to visit the KUCCPS portal at http://students.kuccps.net, log into the student portal, and revise or submit their preferred choices. The portal offers an opportunity for students to align their course choices with their KCSE performance, personal interests, and available career paths.
The placement service has listed a total of 71 accredited universities and institutions as available options for placement. These include 41 public universities, 29 private universities, and the Open University of Kenya, which offers flexible, remote learning opportunities. In addition, students can choose from a variety of technical and vocational education training (TVET) institutions for diploma and certificate programs.
Education stakeholders are urging candidates not to wait until the last minute to revise their choices, as the system may experience high traffic close to the deadline. “This is a critical step in shaping your future. Take time to review your options carefully and ensure your application is complete,” advised a KUCCPS official.
Students are encouraged to use the available resources and guides on the KUCCPS platform to make informed decisions. They can also seek assistance from teachers, career counselors, and KUCCPS support centers spread across the country.
With the final deadline looming, all eligible KCSE candidates are being called upon to act swiftly to secure placement in their desired courses and institutions.
