The family of a 38-year-old Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) employee, Caroline Mokeira, is appealing for help in tracing her whereabouts after she mysteriously went missing on Friday, October 17, 2025. Mokeira, who worked at the KMTC Kapenguria Campus, was last seen leaving her home in Kibomet with her husband under unclear circumstances.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, her father expressed frustration over what he termed as slow police investigations, saying the family has been left in anguish for days without updates.
“I am begging you, it is very hard for me to sleep. I wake up at night to check my phone to see whether there is any news on my daughter, and I find it blank,” he said emotionally. “I would be very happy to know her whereabouts. Even if she is dead or alive, I will be grateful.”
The family suspects foul play and has called for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to take over the case. Relatives allege that police at Kimilili Police Station have failed to act promptly, even after clues emerged that Mokeira’s phone had been traced to Uganda.
“The police should arrest the husband as he is the first suspect. The county commander should also take over this matter because we do not have trust in the Kimilili Police Station,” one relative stated.
Adding to the mystery, both Mokeira’s and her husband’s cars were found parked in their compound, with the househelp claiming it was the husband who returned and parked them.
Three days before her disappearance, the couple was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants, further heightening concerns of a possible plot behind her vanishing.
The family maintains that the mother of three would never willingly abandon her children, urging authorities and the public to assist in finding her.
Police are yet to issue an official statement on the case as investigations continue.
