The Shree Visa Oshwal Jain Community, Nairobi, has once again demonstrated its dedication to youth welfare and education by donating assorted food items to St. John’s High School-Kangii for the month of July 2025. This marks the second such donation this year, following a similar gesture in February, reaffirming the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
The handover ceremony was held at the Oshwal Centre in Nairobi and attended by key leaders of the Oshwal Community, along with representatives from St. John’s High School-Kangii. Among the items donated were maize, beans, rice, maize flour, cooking oil, and sugar—essentials that will sustain the school’s student body throughout the month.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Benjamin Musau, the school’s Board Chairman, expressed profound gratitude for the continued support. He noted that the impact of such donations has been clearly visible, with notable improvements in student morale, classroom participation, and a renewed sense of belonging among learners.
Bindi Rashmi Shah, Chairperson of the Shree Visa Oshwal Jain Community, highlighted the values underpinning the donation. “As a community grounded in the values of service and compassion, we believe it is our duty and privilege to support the education and well-being of young people across the country,” she said. “The students of St. John’s High School-Kangii represent resilience, potential, and the future of our nation. We hope our small gesture brings nourishment, encouragement, and dignity to each learner.”
This initiative aligns with the broader mission of the Oshwal Community to promote humanitarian values and social responsibility. Their support to the school not only addresses immediate nutritional needs but also fosters a conducive learning environment for students, many of whom face socio-economic challenges.
As the school continues to benefit from such partnerships, the hope is that more organizations will follow the example set by the Shree Visa Oshwal Jain Community and invest in Kenya’s future through education-focused philanthropy.
