The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the recruitment of 2,014 teachers to fill vacancies left by those who exited the service through natural attrition. The new positions will be offered on permanent and pensionable terms, signaling TSC’s continued commitment to strengthen staffing in learning institutions across Kenya.
According to a notice published in the latest edition of MyGov, the vacancies are distributed as follows: 1,309 posts in primary schools, 32 in junior secondary schools, and 673 in secondary schools. This recruitment drive aims to enhance the teacher-to-student ratio and maintain educational standards.
Eligible applicants must be Kenyan citizens registered with TSC. Those applying for primary school positions must hold a P1 certificate, while candidates for junior or secondary school positions must possess at least a diploma in education. Furthermore, applicants must have attained a minimum grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), including in two teaching subjects.
Applications must be submitted online through the TSC portals www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke by midnight on Monday, May 19, 2025. The Commission emphasized that only online submissions will be accepted and warned that filling out more than one application form will lead to automatic disqualification.
Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously been employed by the Commission. In line with its equal opportunity policy, TSC also encouraged persons with disabilities to apply.
TSC has cautioned applicants to be wary of fraudsters posing as recruitment agents. The Commission reiterated that the application process is entirely free and urged anyone encountering suspicious activity to report it promptly. Reports can be made through the Director Staffing at 0202892193, Deputy Director Staffing at 0202892131, or via email at dirstaffing@tsc.go.ke.
Comprehensive details on county-specific and school-specific vacancies can be accessed on the official TSC website. This recruitment drive offers a significant opportunity for qualified educators to join the teaching profession under secure and pensionable terms.
