The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the recruitment of 9,159 teachers for primary, junior, and secondary schools across Kenya. The notice, issued on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, specifies that the posts are permanent and pensionable.
Of the advertised positions, 7,065 are for primary schools, 12 for junior schools, and 2,082 for secondary schools. TSC has directed eligible candidates to apply online, emphasizing strict adherence to its recruitment guidelines for the 2025/2026 financial year.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Be duly registered with TSC.
- Hold a minimum P1 certificate for primary schools or a Diploma in Education for junior and secondary schools.
Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official TSC portals: tsc.go.ke under the ‘Careers’ section or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke. The deadline for applications is December 8, 2025. Manual applications will not be considered.
TSC also noted that the merit list generated from this recruitment exercise will guide future selections within the current financial year. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates, including the Kenya Certificate of Primary and Secondary Education.
The Commission warned against submitting multiple applications, as doing so will lead to disqualification. Preference will be given to applicants not previously employed by TSC. Successful candidates may be posted to any location in the country, not necessarily where they were interviewed.
Finally, TSC reiterated that the recruitment process is free of charge and cautioned applicants to beware of fraudsters seeking money for job placements.
This recruitment presents a significant opportunity for qualified teachers to join TSC and serve across Kenya, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving education nationwide.
