Tanzanian music sensation Alikiba has cleared the air regarding his absence from fellow artist Juma Jux’s grand wedding ceremony, which recently created a stir across social media and the entertainment scene.
The event, which attracted a star-studded guest list from various African countries, was a glamorous celebration featuring notable appearances by Kenyan personalities, including Bahati and Diana Marua, Mzazi Willy Tuva, and Claudia Naisabwa, who also served as a co-host.
Despite the heavy celebrity turnout, fans couldn’t help but notice that some big names were missing—among them, Alikiba and Harmonize. The unexpected omissions sparked curiosity and speculation about possible tension among the artists.
Addressing the matter, Juma Jux shared that his decision on who to invite was influenced more by communication dynamics than any personal conflicts. According to him, the people he interacts with frequently and considers part of his inner circle were prioritized for the guest list. He emphasized that the absence of certain artists shouldn’t be misinterpreted as hostility or beef but was simply due to a lack of regular connection.
Responding to the buzz, Alikiba expressed that he took no offense over not receiving an invitation. Speaking with measured calm, he made it clear that he did not perceive the situation as a snub. For him, invitations to such events are personal choices, and he respects that.
Alikiba elaborated that he doesn’t consider himself part of Juma Jux’s core group of friends. According to him, their relationship isn’t one of constant interaction, and they simply don’t operate within the same social or creative spaces. However, he quickly dismissed any suggestions of animosity, clarifying that their paths have crossed before without incident.
He recalled a friendly exchange they had while in Zanzibar, noting that while they may not be in constant contact, there is no underlying drama between them. The singer maintained that the absence of regular communication should not be equated to conflict.
The wedding itself was a highlight on the East African social calendar. Ahead of the main ceremony, Juma Jux serenaded guests with a soulful live performance during a pre-wedding celebration held in Karen, Nairobi. The intimate gathering was not only rich in musical flair but also carried a touch of political prestige, thanks to the presence of Kenya’s President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto.
This exclusive performance marked a memorable moment in Jux’s career as it gave him the rare opportunity to engage personally with the President, adding even more glamour to an already high-profile occasion.
While speculation around guest list dynamics may continue, both Alikiba and Jux have emphasized that there is no bad blood. Their statements reflect a maturity and professionalism that often gets overlooked in the celebrity world, where rumors of feuds can easily spiral. For now, it seems the only thing missing was a phone call—and not a friendship.
