Popular TikToker and content creator Baba Talisha has appealed to the public for assistance after losing two high-end smartphones during the Mataha Festival along Kiambu Road. The devices — an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra — reportedly contained valuable brand collaborations, unedited videos, and completed projects.
Incident at the Festival
Talisha attended the much-anticipated festival on Saturday, 9 November 2025, joining fellow entertainers and fans for a night of music and celebration. However, after the event, he took to social media to announce that both his phones had gone missing. “The phones have unedited work and ready projects that are of value to the brands I work for. I offer KSh 50k for anyone who has any leads,” he wrote.
He disclosed that one of the phones, the Samsung S24 Ultra, briefly rang before going offline, suggesting it might still be traceable. Talisha believes the devices could be in the Jamhuri area. The loss, he said, is less about the financial value and more about the crucial work data stored in the phones.
Loss of Valuable Work
In his online statement, the content creator revealed the depth of his loss: “I’m just sitting here feeling like crying, especially over the iPhone because it had 173 edited reels and about 217 unedited ones, both for different brands.” He added that until the devices are found, he is relying on his laptop for communication and has temporarily taken his business line offline.
Public Reaction and Support
The announcement sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow creators. Many offered advice on how to track the missing devices, including the use of serial numbers and reaching out to authorities. Others recommended professional phone-tracking services or contacting influential figures who could help recover the phones.
Some fans also questioned why Talisha was carrying both phones at once but empathized with his situation, recognizing how devastating it can be for a creator to lose content and client materials. One commenter wrote, “For content creators, phones are like offices — losing them means losing months of hard work.”
Similar Incidents
The situation mirrors a previous case involving Ruth K, ex-partner of comedian Mulamwah, who lost her phone during the Africa Nations Championships at Kasarani Stadium. She later offered a KSh 30,000 reward for its recovery, citing similar reasons — lost work and valuable collaborations.
Digital Security Lessons for Creators
Baba Talisha’s experience serves as a reminder of the growing importance of digital asset security in the creator economy. For influencers and digital entrepreneurs, phones store not just personal data but entire work portfolios, brand materials, and financial information. The incident underscores the need for regular backups and stronger device-tracking measures to safeguard content and professional output.
As the search for the missing phones continues, fans remain hopeful that the devices — and the work stored within — will be recovered soon.
