He further explained how he introduced himself as “David Machel” before revealing his full name, “David Machel Osiany.” Then, in a surprising twist, he proposed to her live on air. “Mpenzi wangu, umekuwa mwanamke bora kuliko wote. Will you marry me my friend?” he asked, leaving Syombua stunned.
To her surprise, the proposal wasn’t just words over the phone. Osiany was in the studio, kneeling behind her, holding out a ring. Syombua, caught completely off guard, had no idea what was coming. The public nature of the proposal was a dramatic and heartfelt gesture, and it would change both their lives forever.
