Chadian model Dillah Acelle has been crowned Africa’s Next Super Model 2025, marking a significant milestone in the continent’s fashion industry. The grand finale took place on Saturday, November 22, at Nairobi’s Broadwalk Mall, where Acelle captivated judges and spectators with her elegance, poise, and runway presence.
Victory and Prizes
Acelle stood out among 16 finalists from across Africa, securing a $5,000 prize and exclusive global exposure. Her win also paves the way for collaborations with top-tier luxury fashion brands, solidifying her status as a rising international modeling star. She follows in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Chol Nyang, continuing the legacy of Africa’s Next Super Model as a platform for discovering and nurturing African talent.
Event Highlights
The finale began with the Kenyan National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence honoring Air Vice-Marshal Terry Okorodudu, the late husband of Joan Okorodudu, founder of Isis Models. Joan, unable to attend due to her bereavement, shared a touching tribute via video message. The evening was hosted by media personality Nailantei Kenga, with BBC senior reporter Ata Ahli as co-host.
The event drew influential figures from Kenya’s creative sector, including representatives from the Kenya Film Commission and Kenyan politicians, who highlighted the competition’s role in empowering African creatives. Cornell McBride, President of Design Essentials, attended for the second consecutive year, supporting emerging talent through his partnership with Isis Models. A patriotic theme was emphasized by Daima Mkenya Africa, showcasing fabrics inspired by the Kenyan flag.
Judges’ Praise
Judges commended Acelle for her confidence, professionalism, and growth throughout the competition. Matteo Puglisi, CEO of Select Models Management, noted that her performance in challenges and on the runway demonstrated exceptional potential, distinguishing her from other contestants.
Winner’s Reflections
