Renowned musician and mixmaster DJ Fatxo has spoken out about the long-running case surrounding the death of Jeff Mwathi, expressing his readiness for the legal process to conclude and for justice to be served.
Mwathi, who was a cousin to popular musician Samidoh Muchoki, died in March 2023 after reportedly falling from the 10th floor of DJ Fatxo’s apartment building along Thika Road. The incident drew widespread public attention, sparking intense speculation and accusations about the circumstances of his death.
Since the tragedy, DJ Fatxo has faced immense scrutiny, losing several business deals and performance opportunities as the investigation continued. Speaking candidly, the entertainer said he is emotionally prepared for whatever verdict the court will deliver, emphasizing his desire for both families to find peace and closure.
He noted that a government pathologist, who conducted forensic tests on all parties involved, testified in court that Mwathi was not sexually assaulted — a statement that refutes earlier public claims. DJ Fatxo said he rarely comments on the matter but chose to speak out to correct misleading narratives circulating online.
According to him, additional CCTV footage will be presented in court before the final judgment is issued. He urged the public to remain patient and allow the justice system to function without interference, stressing that all parties deserve fairness.
“Someone died, and the family deserves justice — but I also deserve justice,” he said. “It doesn’t mean that because certain things happened, I should automatically be blamed for them. Let’s wait for the final ruling so that we can all move forward.”
The entertainer expressed confidence that the upcoming court sessions would bring clarity and truth to the case. He added that he is willing to accept the outcome, regardless of whether it involves punishment or exoneration.
“If it turns out it was murder, we will face the consequences,” he stated. “But if it wasn’t, we ask that people give us peace and allow us to rebuild our lives. We can’t stay indoors forever — we have talents and dreams that we want to pursue.”
As the case nears its conclusion, DJ Fatxo said he remains hopeful that the final ruling will bring justice, understanding, and healing to everyone affected by the tragic incident.
