Vincent Mboya, a popular Kenyan content creator, is making bold moves after turning his life around. Just a few years ago, he was struggling to pay rent, but now he’s living abroad and making headlines for uplifting his family.
In a recent interview, Mboya revealed that he had bought a large piece of land in Mtwapa for his mother. He plans to build her a grand house with a built-in church, reflecting her deep spiritual life. According to him, the property will not only serve as a home but also as a sanctuary where his mother can host prayer sessions with friends. He also wants the compound to have a ranch-like feel, complete with a few animals, as the land is spacious enough to accommodate that vision.
Mboya said his decision to invest in land stemmed from his desire to secure his mother’s future while she is still alive. Having experienced the pain and embarrassment of not being able to pay rent, he vowed never to let that hardship revisit his lineage. His ultimate goal is to eliminate rental struggles from his family tree.
Reflecting on his journey, Mboya recounted how he went viral in 2021 after returning KSh 18,000 given to him by a public figure to help settle his rent arrears. He had initially accepted the cash but returned it, saying he felt disrespected. That moment sparked heated debates online, with some sympathizing with him and others accusing him of chasing clout. The experience, however, became a turning point, propelling him into the spotlight.
Since relocating to Canada, Mboya has adopted a new lifestyle and is making what he calls “money moves.” He once claimed to have bought a car worth KSh 1 million and mentioned plans to customize it with unique number plates. His online presence continues to grow, and so does his financial stability.
The YouTuber also shared that his mother currently lives in Mtwapa, the same area they lived in before he moved to Nairobi and rose to fame. He felt it was only fitting to invest back in that community by giving his mum a permanent and meaningful home.
This isn’t the first time Mboya has gone out of his way to honor his mother. In the past, he surprised her with a flight for her first-ever vacation and showered her with gifts from Dubai, including a watch and necklace she had admired. He revealed that he gave her his first major salary of KSh 100,000 as a token of appreciation for all she had done for him.
From struggling to afford rent to becoming a millionaire abroad, Vincent Mboya’s story is a testament to transformation, determination, and gratitude. Through his journey, he hopes to inspire others to never forget where they came from and to always honor those who stood by them during their lowest moments.
