Senator Karen Nyamu has dismissed claims made by businesswoman Wanja Nyarari that she attended Triza Njeri’s album launch just to see her ex-partner, popular mugithi singer Samidoh. The senator and Wanja have been exchanging heated words online, following a dramatic turn of events tied to the album launch and ongoing tensions within their social and political circles.
Karen Nyamu had publicly shown support for Triza Njeri after some fans threatened to boycott brands associated with her. The threats followed the leak of an audio in which Triza strongly defended her husband, Karangu Muraya. The audio stirred division among supporters, including Wanja Nyarari, who distanced herself from Triza soon after it went public.
In response to Nyamu’s public endorsement of Triza, Wanja accused her of trying to attend the album launch under false pretenses, alleging that the senator had privately requested an invitation just to get a chance to interact with Samidoh. According to Wanja, she had advised Nyamu against attending the event due to the risk of negative publicity, especially given the history between the senator, Samidoh, and his wife Edday Nderitu. Wanja also hinted that Nyamu’s appearance was motivated by political interests, claiming she hoped Wanja would attend one of her events in return.
Karen Nyamu, however, denied these claims outright. She questioned why she would need to go to a public event to see her ex, especially if her intention was romantic or personal. Nyamu pointed out that she left the event immediately after making a donation, which, according to her, disproves the accusation that she was there to linger around Samidoh. She further reminded Wanja that she is currently in another relationship and not interested in revisiting her past with the musician.
The senator suggested Wanja was being unnecessarily confrontational and warned her against dragging others, including Triza and Samidoh, into their disagreements. She called on Wanja to reflect and avoid escalating the issue further. Despite the tense back-and-forth, Nyamu maintained a measured tone, urging Wanja to seek reconciliation rather than intensify the public spat.
The online community quickly picked up on the feud, with many netizens siding with Nyamu. Social media users praised her composure and criticized Wanja for bringing personal matters into the public eye. Some pointed out that the drama overshadowed the original intent of the event — a music album launch — and turned it into a stage for personal grievances.
Meanwhile, the history between Karen Nyamu and Samidoh remains a topic of public interest. Although the two share children together, their relationship reportedly ended months ago, with Nyamu asserting multiple times that she has no intention of reconciling. Samidoh, on his part, has kept a low profile regarding the matter, only recently alluding to being celibate and focusing on rebuilding his relationship with his original family.
As tensions simmer online, it remains to be seen whether the two women will de-escalate the situation or continue exchanging barbs in public view.
