Bishop Reverend Kathy Kiuna has shared a deeply emotional message in anticipation of the first anniversary of her husband Bishop Allan Kiuna’s passing. In a heartfelt social media post, she posted a photo of her late husband, expressing just how much she still feels his absence. Allan Kiuna passed away on July 9, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
Kathy reflected on the love and faith that defined their life together, stating that no farewell could truly capture the grief she still carries. She remembered his unwavering faith, even during his final days, and acknowledged that God’s faithfulness has continued to sustain her and their family. “My best friend, no goodbye will ever truly express what my heart still feels,” she wrote, adding that even though a year has passed, the pain remains fresh. “Forever in my mind. Forever in our hearts. We miss you badly, but God does all things well.”
The Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder also announced plans for a memorial service to honour Allan’s legacy. The event is scheduled to take place on July 9 at JCC, starting from 3 pm, and is open to all who wish to celebrate his life.
Allan’s passing sent shockwaves across the Kenyan Christian community. Known for his charismatic ministry and vibrant sermons, he had been receiving treatment in the United States for over a year before his return to Kenya, where he later succumbed to the illness in a Nairobi hospital. He had publicly shared that his treatment cost over KSh 460 million.
Supporters, friends, and church members took to social media to share their memories and offer their comfort. Many expressed disbelief that a whole year had passed, saying it still feels like he’s only away on a journey. One mourner wrote that the gap left by spiritual leaders like Allan can never be filled but focusing on how God used them helps provide comfort. Others praised Kathy’s strength and the way she continues to lead despite the heavy loss.
Messages poured in from all corners, with some describing Allan as a “general of faith” and others sharing that they continue to pray for Kathy and the family. Many described him as a father figure, praising how he helped raise spiritual sons and daughters who now carry on his legacy.
In a related note, Allan’s daughter Stephanie, who lives in Australia, also shared her emotional journey after missing her father’s burial. Despite doing all she could to fly home, circumstances beyond her control prevented her return. She recalled fond memories of their last Christmas together in Australia and openly grieved her father’s absence.
One year on, the legacy of Bishop Allan Kiuna remains strong through the work of his wife Kathy and the JCC family. As the date of the memorial approaches, many continue to draw strength from his teachings and celebrate the life he lived with honour, passion, and unwavering faith.
