Lynne Njihia has revealed that she is currently single and open to dating again, following her breakup with comedian Eric Omondi. The mother of one made the announcement during the launch of the reality show The Mommy’s Club, where she stars alongside Jackie Matubia, Carey Priscilla, Pierra Makena, and Ofentse Tsipa.
In a candid moment at the launch, Lynne addressed her relationship status, clarifying that although viewers might see her being affectionate on the show, she is no longer in a relationship. Encouraging potential suitors, she stated that she is single and welcomed people to “shoot their shot.”
Lynne and Eric had been in a relationship for nearly four years before parting ways in April. Their relationship had gone through significant challenges, especially around the time of Lynne’s pregnancy and the birth of their daughter, Kyla.
In the first episode of The Mommy’s Club, Lynne opened up about the emotional and physical trauma she experienced during her second pregnancy. She shared that she is not ready to have another child, explaining that the experience was extremely difficult and has left a lasting impact on her.
According to her account, the pregnancy came just two months after she had suffered a miscarriage. This unexpected development caused both excitement and anxiety. She and Eric quickly sought medical advice to ensure everything was progressing safely. However, a hospital visit revealed she was already dilating at seven months. She was admitted to the hospital for four days to try to stop the early labour, and it initially worked.
Unfortunately, things took a turn shortly after she returned home. The next day, she noticed a lack of movement from her baby. Concerned, she and Eric returned to the hospital for a scan, which showed that the baby was fine. However, the following morning, Lynne went into active labour, prompting an emergency Caesarean Section.
Their daughter was born prematurely and faced breathing difficulties due to underdeveloped lungs. Lynne recalled that the newborn couldn’t coordinate between breathing and swallowing, which required her to be placed on medication and kept in the hospital for two weeks.
Reflecting on this experience, Lynne emotionally described the fear and heartbreak she endured. These intense experiences have influenced her current stance on pregnancy, leading her to affirm that she is content being “Mama Kyla” and does not wish to go through another pregnancy.
Despite the challenges, Lynne is moving forward with strength and optimism. As she embarks on her new journey in the public eye through The Mommy’s Club, she’s embracing singlehood and is open to new possibilities in life and love.
