Fans heading to the RFUEA Grounds for the 2025 Christie Sevens this weekend can look forward to more than just thrilling rugby. On Saturday night, August 16, the venue will come alive with a high-energy afterparty headlined by two of Kenya’s hottest music stars Maandy Kabaya and Toxic Lyrikali.
Maandy Kabaya, one of the most prominent female voices in Kenya’s urban music scene, has built a reputation for her bold lyrics, dynamic stage presence, and ability to connect with youthful audiences. Known for hit tracks like Shash na Lipgloss, Bubbly Bubbly, and Bad Gyal, Maandy has consistently delivered electrifying performances at concerts and festivals across the country. Her confident style and infectious energy promise to keep the Christie Sevens crowd on their feet well into the night.
She will share the stage with Toxic Lyrikali, a rising force in Kenyan hip-hop whose raw storytelling and authentic style have won him a dedicated fan base. He shot into the spotlight after his track Chinje went viral and has since followed it up with popular releases such as Backbencher, Hood, Sick, and Confirmation. Known for his unapologetic depiction of urban life and his high-octane performances, Toxic Lyrikali is set to bring an unfiltered hip-hop edge to the night.
The afterparty, powered by Kenya Breweries Limited’s flagship brand Tusker, will be hosted at the Tusker Village within the tournament grounds. DJ Kill Switch and Mix Master Lenny will keep the vibe going with back-to-back mixes, ensuring the energy never dips.
Tusker’s Ksh 3 million sponsorship for the Christie Sevens covers both sporting and fan engagement aspects from supporting hosts Kenya Harlequin with tournament logistics to enhancing the overall matchday experience. The Christie Sevens marks the third leg of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit, following the Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa and the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru.
Taking place on August 16 and 17, the tournament will feature Kenya’s top rugby sevens teams, alongside a vibrant fan village offering food, merchandise, and live entertainment. With the afterparty open to all ticket holders, organisers expect a massive turnout for a weekend that promises an unforgettable blend of sport, music, and celebration.
