Content creator Oga Obinna has announced that he will no longer be working closely with Arbantone singer Stoopid Boy following the latter’s return to his hometown, Gotta City. This decision comes after Stoopid Boy recently completed a three-month stint in rehab to address his addiction problems.
After his discharge, Oga Obinna had extended a helping hand by offering to support Stoopid Boy’s education and cover his rent until he could regain stability. The singer expressed gratitude for the rehab experience, claiming it had changed his life for the better, which prompted congratulations from many netizens. However, once videos surfaced showing Stoopid Boy back in Gotta City, Oga Obinna chose to distance himself from the singer.
Despite the distance, Obinna encouraged the public to continue supporting Stoopid Boy. “Let us support him as much as we can. Wherever you see him, support the guy. He is very talented and is destined for great things. He just needs a lot of support and mentorship from all of us collectively,” Obinna said. He emphasized that Stoopid Boy is not signed under his studio, and they are not collaborating as closely as originally planned due to various issues.
Oga Obinna also expressed willingness to help with one last music video for Stoopid Boy as a gesture of goodwill. “We have tried up to a point. I told King Phizo I would do one music video for him as a blessing. I don’t expect any payment or returns. Perhaps in the future, if other projects arise and we find mutual understanding, we can work together again. For now, he is a free artist. All the best to him, we tried our best, and now we support from a distance,” he added.
Social media reactions to this development have been mixed. Some users expressed skepticism about Stoopid Boy’s recovery, with one commenting that quitting alcohol within three months is highly unlikely. Others urged continued support for the singer, hoping he would succeed like other artists who have overcome similar struggles. There were also remarks appreciating Oga Obinna’s efforts to assist the singer despite the challenges.
In addition to distancing himself professionally, Oga Obinna had previously offered to take Stoopid Boy back to school to learn production basics, aiming to help him acquire new skills. He revealed that Stoopid Boy would be living with his bodyguard, Munze, who would help monitor and prevent any relapse. Oga Obinna also invited Stoopid Boy to join him whenever he shoots content on Mondays, providing a supportive environment for growth.
Overall, while the close working relationship between Oga Obinna and Stoopid Boy has cooled, the commitment to supporting the artist from afar remains. The focus now is on collective mentorship and encouragement as Stoopid Boy navigates his path to recovery and career rebuilding.
