Oga Obinna has opened up emotionally after being accused of exploitation by Abantone rapper Stoopid Boy in a video that has since gone viral. The veteran entertainer expressed deep disappointment over the allegations, especially considering his long-standing efforts to support the musician’s career resurgence.
The claims came unexpectedly, especially after Obinna had recently funded a music video for the rapper. Sharing his thoughts on the situation, he admitted he had some concerns earlier on, which is why he intentionally kept a bit of distance while still ensuring Stoopid Boy received help.
“This happened sooner than I expected,” he said, visibly affected. “I’m holding back from saying much because talking sometimes makes things worse. I watched the video, and honestly, I’m heartbroken.”
Obinna revealed that just a day before the accusations surfaced, he had sponsored the entire production of a music video for Stoopid Boy. According to him, he did it out of pure goodwill, without any intention of gaining from it.
“We filmed the video yesterday. I paid for everything—not because I had to, but because I wanted to,” he said. “The producers can confirm the project happened. They even had to trace him down to shoot, though they arrived late, they still captured what they could. I’m now just waiting to see the final footage.”
Despite the shocking accusations, Obinna chose not to lash out. Instead, he showed compassion, suggesting that the rapper could be going through something deeper, possibly tied to past struggles with substance abuse or emotional instability.
“I don’t want to say this was a waste. I honestly don’t know what to feel. I feel hurt—for myself and for him,” he shared.
Rather than fueling the backlash, he urged fans and the public not to attack the young artist. He reminded them that the version of Stoopid Boy seen in the video might not reflect who he truly is, hinting at personal issues that might be influencing his behavior.
“Please don’t insult him,” he pleaded. “We all know this isn’t the real him. We know what he’s facing, and maybe one day he’ll see it, or maybe he won’t. But let’s not be quick to throw stones. Let’s be understanding.”
Even amid personal pain, Obinna remained committed to helping others. He emphasized that one bad experience would not derail his purpose of supporting talents, especially those struggling to find their footing.
He encouraged fans to continue supporting Stoopid Boy’s upcoming song release titled Sangwangwa, noting that despite the fallout, the project should not be punished for the conflict.
“The video is coming soon. When it drops, please support it—support him. He’s talented, and he still deserves a shot,” he said.
These remarks came after Stoopid Boy, in an angry TikTok rant, accused Obinna of pocketing the Ksh1 million raised by well-wishers to help revive his career. He claimed that while fans were engaging with content they thought supported him, it ended up benefiting Obinna more than himself. In his frustration, the rapper alleged that Obinna was simply exploiting his situation for personal gain, even going so far as to say, “If Obinna can’t take care of his wife and kids, how does he expect to take care of me?”
Despite the harsh accusations, Obinna’s calm and heartfelt response suggested a man trying to balance emotional pain with empathy, hopeful that the situation may one day be resolved with understanding and healing.
