Ohangla sensation Evans Ochieng Owino, popularly known as Prince Indah, has announced a moving musical tribute in honour of Kenya’s late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga. Raila, who passed away on October 15, 2025, in India at the age of 80 due to cardiac arrest during a morning walk, is being mourned nationwide.
In a heartfelt social media post, Prince Indah revealed that his tribute song, titled “Wuod Oganda, Amolo 3 in 1”, is set to premiere at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He noted that the timing carries spiritual significance, aligning with Luo ancestral guidance and the sacred moments before sunrise.
“BABA! AGWAMBO! JAKOM! TINGA! ENIGMA! NYUNDO! RAO! PEOPLE’S PRESIDENT! JOSHUA… The spirits of Got Ramogi have descended unto me this evening. I am here in the studio recording Wuod Oganda, Amolo 3 in 1, an official tribute to be released tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m., a time when the Sun has not risen, as directed by JUOGI. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS, JAKAWUOR.” — Prince Indah
Raila Odinga’s Final Journey
As the nation prepares to honour Raila’s final journey, his family requested a swift burial within 72 hours of his passing, respecting his wishes for a dignified send-off. Arrangements include the repatriation of his remains from India to Kenya, with a Kenyan delegation arriving in Mumbai early on Thursday to escort the body home.
The former prime minister’s remains are scheduled to depart India at 2:00 a.m., arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 8:30 a.m., where they will be received with full state honours. From the airport, the body will be transported to Lee Funeral Home and then to State House, before proceeding to Parliament Buildings for public viewing later that day.
National Mourning and Tributes
A national prayer service will be held at Nyayo Stadium on Friday, October 17, followed by processions through Kisumu and Bondo. Raila Odinga is scheduled to be laid to rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his Opoda home in Siaya County.
Prince Indah’s spiritual tribute captures the profound cultural and emotional impact of Raila Odinga’s life, celebrating him not only as a political leader but as a unifying figure whose legacy transcends generations.
