Rose Muhando’s son, Maxmillian Paul, popularly known as Simba, recently experienced a surprising and heartwarming moment when he discovered he had unknowingly appeared in one of his mother’s iconic gospel music videos as a child. The moment came as he was casually watching his mother’s old music, only to recognize himself among the energetic dancers in the video for the beloved track Amezaliwa Horini.
In a short video clip he recorded and shared, Simba expressed his disbelief and amusement: “I came across one of my mum’s old songs. I didn’t even know I was there. I forgot I was in that song. I was hitting it, bro. You see that kid there? That was me, bro.” He watched the video on a television screen in his room, clearly amazed by the childhood memory captured on film.
The gospel hit Amezaliwa Horini is one of the many songs that helped cement Rose Muhando’s reputation across East Africa, known for her passionate lyrics and lively dance performances. For Simba, the unexpected discovery brought a wave of nostalgia and pride.
Speaking further about the moment, Simba shared how significant the video is to him personally. “Yes, I am very proud. It’s one of the few things I have on camera with my mum, and being featured on one of her biggest albums will always be a joy for me. One of the best memories for real,” he said.
Currently, Simba is a second-year student at the University of Dar es Salaam, pursuing a degree in Geology. Alongside his academic journey, he maintains deep gratitude for the fans who have supported his mother throughout her career. “I appreciate the support and care they show to my mum. All the streams, views, and shows are the ones feeding me. So I love them a lot for that. They are the coolest,” he added sincerely.
On his own faith journey, Simba affirmed that he is born again, but with a clear stance on individuality. “Yes, I am, but I am not my mother and people should never expect me to be her or like her. I have my path to follow, although her guidance and teachings are of most importance in my life.”
Fans who saw his video admired his fluent English and began to speculate whether he had grown up outside Tanzania. Clarifying this, Simba explained that he was born and raised in Tanzania but attended an international school during his younger years, which helped polish his English. He added that English has simply become his preferred way of expressing himself, influenced by the people around him and regular practice.
In another recent update related to Rose Muhando, she shared that a well-known preacher surprised her with a car gift. During a radio interview, she narrated how she was given the car by Kuhani Musa, a gesture that deeply touched her and further fueled her ministry journey.
