Mugithi sensation Samidoh has stirred conversations once again after choosing to remain silent on the recent arrest warrant issued against him. Instead of addressing the controversy, the musician released his tour dates for an ongoing US musical tour, signaling no immediate return to Kenya.
Samidoh, who also serves as a police officer, found himself in hot water after allegations surfaced that he had deserted his official duties. The National Police Service issued a warrant for his arrest, citing that his prolonged absence from the force without formal clearance was a violation of duty.
While many of his fans were anxiously waiting for his response to the warrant, Samidoh offered none. Instead, he posted a thoughtful quote on social media, saying, “No matter how high an eagle flies up the sky, it will come down to look for food,” followed by his detailed US tour schedule.
This move has drawn comparisons to his wife Edday Nderitu’s decision to remain in the US permanently after what was initially thought to be a short trip. Similarly, Samidoh’s latest schedule hints that he may be considering an extended, if not permanent, stay abroad. His tour is set to run until late July, with stops in several major cities including Houston, Austin, Lowell, Dallas, and Seattle.
Before departing for the US, Samidoh had sparked concern among his followers after posting a cryptic message about death. His brief disappearance was followed by an appearance at the residence of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, leaving many speculating about his well-being. He later traveled to the UK for a joint tour with fellow artist Joyce Wa Mamaa before eventually flying to the US.
While in the United States, Samidoh shared heartfelt moments with his children, posting photos with both his daughter and son. These images appeared to reassure his fans that he was enjoying family time despite the storm brewing back home.
Reactions from Kenyans have been mixed. Some fans encouraged him to remain in the US until his safety can be guaranteed, fearing that returning to Kenya under the current circumstances could put him at risk. Others chose to express support through humor and music suggestions, calling on him to release more songs and videos to entertain them during his absence.
Despite the controversy, Samidoh seems focused on his music and family for now. Whether he plans to return and face the allegations remains to be seen, but for the time being, his attention appears to be fixed firmly on his career and loved ones abroad.
