The high-profile divorce case between renowned Kenyan business couple Sarah and Simon Kabu has taken a shocking turn following serious accusations by Sarah Kabu. In recent court filings, Sarah has accused her estranged husband of engaging in a romantic relationship with Maureen Kabu a young woman Simon has publicly introduced as his daughter alleging that the relationship amounts to an “incestuous union.”
According to Sarah, Simon has been treating Maureen not as a daughter but as an intimate partner. She claims that he has transferred significant marital assets, including vehicles and property, to Maureen, which she argues constitutes dissipation of their joint estate. In her plea to the court, Sarah has requested that Maureen be formally included in the divorce proceedings under grounds of adultery and improper transfer of marital wealth.
Sarah further revealed that she only became aware of Maureen’s existence in April 2022, after Simon allegedly eloped with her and their children to Amboseli. She questions the biological relationship between Simon and Maureen, emphasizing that no DNA test has been conducted to prove paternity. “The nature of their relationship,” Sarah asserted in court, “has all the hallmarks of an incestuous union,” a statement that has ignited public outrage and widespread debate.

Simon Kabu, in response, has strongly denied the allegations, dismissing them as defamatory and unfounded. “Lawyers can write anything,” he remarked, insisting that Maureen is his child and that he is simply fulfilling his duties as a father. He encouraged Sarah to “heal and move on,” and hinted at a potential defamation lawsuit in response to her claims.
The Kabus, co-founders of Bonfire Adventures, have been in the public spotlight for years, with their marital woes frequently surfacing on social media. Although they were recently seen together at a business event aboard a yacht, Sarah confirmed that the interaction was purely professional.
As legal proceedings continue, calls for DNA evidence and clarity around the allegations are mounting. The case now stands at the intersection of legal scrutiny, family ethics, and public interest.
