The beloved Gengetone artist, whose untimely death earlier this month left fans and fellow entertainers heartbroken, will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his family home in Matangi, Ruiru.
Requiem Mass Set for October 15
A requiem mass will take place a day earlier, on Wednesday, October 15, at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The service is expected to draw hundreds of mourners from the entertainment industry, friends, and family members who have continued to celebrate the artist’s life and legacy.
Comedian Eric Omondi has urged members of Kenya’s creative community to attend the service, emphasizing the importance of unity during such moments of loss. He described Shalkido as a young talent whose life was tragically cut short, calling on colleagues to honor his contribution to the music scene.
