Gospel musician and pastor Linet Munyali, popularly known as Size 8, has defended her advice encouraging couples to pray before engaging in intimacy. Speaking alongside her husband, DJ Mo, during the launch of the third branch of Urban Wheels, she emphasized the spiritual nature of marriage and the importance of inviting God into every aspect of the union.
Faith-Driven Guidance on Marital Intimacy
When addressing her previous guidance, Size 8 clarified that her advice is rooted in faith. She explained that life is highly spiritual and marriages are often targeted by negative forces because they symbolize the relationship between Christ and the Church. “Life is very spiritual. The enemy hates marriages because it’s a replica of Christ, who is the main groom, and the body/the church, which is the bride. The devil hates that because that’s where he was denied everything, and the human race continued,” she stated.
Prayer as a Quiet, Personal Practice
Size 8 emphasized that couples do not need to make loud or public prayers before intimacy. Instead, she encourages whispering a simple prayer in the heart, even one or two sentences, to invite God’s presence into private moments. “What I was telling people about [praying] before intimacy, I wasn’t saying that before that act, you start shouting and speaking in tongues. I just meant that you whisper a prayer in your heart. Just whisper a small one or two sentences and just allow the Lord to prevail,” she explained, adding, “Put your marriage in Christ.”
Strengthening the Marital Bond
Size 8 shared that part of her motivation for praying before intimacy is to align her desires with her husband’s, even if she does not initially feel ready. She also prays for DJ Mo’s strength and her own ability to satisfy him fully, aiming to strengthen their bond and discourage either partner from straying. DJ Mo added a humorous note, saying he prays on his way home for a good “show,” reflecting the couple’s view of intimacy as a sacred, spiritually guided act.
Faith-Centered Marriages in the Public Eye
The practice, which Size 8 first shared publicly in March 2023, has sparked debate online due to its unconventional approach to spirituality in marriage. Supporters praise the integration of faith into marital life, while critics question the balance between spiritual guidance and personal intimacy. Despite differing opinions, Size 8 and DJ Mo remain steadfast in promoting their perspective on faith-centered marital harmony.
Encouraging Spiritual Integration in Relationships
By framing intimacy as a holy activity and involving God in private moments, Size 8 and DJ Mo advocate for a spiritually intentional approach to marriage. Their advice highlights the belief that marital harmony can be nurtured through prayer, faith, and mutual respect, offering couples a model for integrating spirituality into everyday life.
