Socialite and nightclub hostess Vera Sidika has opened up about the demanding realities of her fast-paced career, sharing private messages with her mother that shed light on her relentless schedule and constant travel.
The messages, posted on Sidika’s Instagram stories on Sunday, August 31, 2025, show her mother expressing concern over her back-to-back engagements, cautioning her to slow down and avoid burnout. Vera, however, reassured her mom that she was managing by getting daily massages and trying to recover from a recent trip to Thailand.
“My mom is shocked at how I’m working back-to-back with no rest. Yet my online people will say, ‘we never see her work, she just goes on vacation,’” Vera wrote alongside the screenshots.
In the chat, Vera detailed her hectic itinerary. She had just returned to Nairobi for an evening show before departing the next morning at 6:45 a.m. for an event in Lodwar, followed by yet another engagement in Eldoret the next night. Her mother’s concern was evident, asking, “Eeeh si you came back yesterday?” and urging her to “slow down to avoid burning out.”
Vera responded, explaining that her work commitments are non-stop, saying, “I’ve been getting massages every day to help me cope. I’m still jet-lagged from the Thailand trip. But I have to work, you know. I’ll rest from Monday.”
In a separate post, she addressed misconceptions about her lifestyle, revealing that even when she appears to be on vacation, she usually has at least three shows lined up immediately upon arrival. She recalled a particularly hectic December when she completed 20 club appearances across multiple towns, some accessible only by road.
“Every time I’m on vacation, immediately I land, I usually have at least 3 shows lined up and more. When in Kenya, I’m a full-time mom and workaholic,” she wrote.
Vera emphasized that while her life may seem glamorous, it comes with both physical and mental challenges. Her candid revelations offer fans a rare insight into the pressures behind the social media façade, highlighting the hard work and dedication that underpin her public persona.
