Kenyan media personality Yvette Obura has begun celebrating her daughter Mueni’s 10th birthday with a lavish gift: a brand-new red iPhone. Mueni, the first child of musician Bahati, will mark a milestone birthday this month, with the iPhone being the first of several planned surprises.

The Product RED edition iPhone was shared on social media as Mueni unboxed it. Based on the camera layout, the device appears to be one of the newer iPhone models, likely the iPhone 13 or 14. In Kenya, these models retail between KSh 75,400 and KSh 116,000, depending on storage capacity and variant. Obura revealed that she purchased the phone during Black November sales and intends to gift her daughter at least ten items she has requested.
“It’s Mueni’s birthday month, we are turning 10. My plan is to get her at least 10 things she’s always asked for,” Obura shared.

Obura explained that the gift is also a reward for Mueni’s exemplary behavior, praising her for being respectful, responsible, and caring. She recalled a touching moment two years ago when Mueni, then eight, comforted her during a low point, saying: “Mommy, this is nothing, God will bless you.” Obura described this act as a defining moment, calling Mueni her intercessor and emphasizing the deep bond they share.
“I see her as an intercessor, someone who brings hope and comfort…God blessed me with an intercessor in the form of a daughter,” Obura said.
