The Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) signee, whose real name is Zuhura Othman, was said to have criticized Kenyan musicians for allegedly disrespecting Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, demanding an apology before considering future collaborations.

According to the viral posts, Zuchu allegedly stated: “Hawana heshima hata kidogo, wamemtharau Rais wetu na kumkejeli vibaya sana (They have no respect at all and insulted our President).” Fans reacted strongly, with many expressing disappointment and concern over the supposed remarks.

Through an Instagram statement, the label described the allegations as “false and misleading” and urged the public not to fall for fake news. “Zuchu has so much respect for all Kenyan musicians, and Kenya has always been one of her strongest markets,” the label stated. “She values her Kenyan fans and the creative partnerships she has enjoyed across the border. She has never made such a statement, and it goes against everything she stands for. Please don’t believe or spread fake stories meant to create division.”
Zuchu, signed under Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi label, has steadily risen to become one of East Africa’s most successful female artists. Her hit songs consistently receive massive airplay in Kenya, where she has also performed to sold-out crowds, cementing her popularity across the region.
