The Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice (OAG & DOJ) has shortlisted 223 candidates for interviews following a highly competitive recruitment process that attracted over 10,000 applicants across three advertised positions.
According to a notice published in My Gov on Tuesday, interviews will be conducted between November 25 and December 4, 2025, marking the next phase of the recruitment exercise.
The application period ran from May 6 to May 16, 2025, drawing a total of 10,173 applications for positions including Accountant II, Public Communication Officer II, and Clerical Officer II.
Among these, the Accountant II position drew the highest number of applicants 3,617 vying for ten vacancies, with 91 candidates shortlisted. The Clerical Officer II role attracted the largest pool overall, with 5,890 applications competing for ten positions, out of which 113 candidates have been shortlisted. The Public Communication Officer II post saw 666 applications for two slots, with 19 candidates advancing to the interview stage.
Solicitor General Shadrack Mose reaffirmed the department’s commitment to equal opportunity, emphasizing diversity and inclusion.

The department has urged shortlisted candidates to check the official website, www.statelaw.go.ke, for detailed interview schedules and required documents. Members of the public have also been invited to submit any credible adverse information about the shortlisted candidates before November 25, 2025, under confidential cover to Sheria House, Nairobi.
The Attorney General’s Office reiterated that the recruitment process aims to uphold transparency, integrity, and meritocracy, reflecting the government’s broader commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring efficient service delivery within the justice sector.
