Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has defended the government against claims of failing to remit medical deductions for public servants.
Government Has Paid Sh4bn
Speaking in Karachuonyo constituency, Ruku said the government has already paid more than Sh4 billion to the Social Health Authority (SHA). He stressed that there are no arrears.
“Those people who peddle rumours that the government had not paid its workers’ money for insurance are wrong. All the money for the public servants’ medical scheme has been paid to the SHA,” Ruku stated.
Public Servants Covered
The CS assured workers that they and their families will continue to receive medical services through the insurance scheme. He said no public servant should struggle to access healthcare.
Ruku also urged civil servants to remain committed to service delivery. According to him, dedication to work is key to transforming the lives of citizens.
Leaders Praise Cooperation
The event was hosted by Homa Bay Woman Representative Joyce Osogo. She praised the cooperation between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga. Osogo said the partnership has brought development to regions that had been neglected.
“What we want is development for our people. Let us use this cooperation for the implementation of projects to transform lives,” she said.
Call for Unity and Development
Dadaab MP Farah Maalim also addressed the gathering. He urged Kenyans to support peace and unity, noting that they are vital for growth. Maalim cited improved milk prices as an example of progress under the current government.
The event also saw the distribution of items to empower women and youth in the county.
Ruku concluded by affirming that President William Ruto’s administration is committed to improving the lives of Kenyans through service and development projects.
