The bank clinched an impressive 16 accolades, with nine top category wins that spotlighted its leadership in innovation, SME support, agriculture financing, and financial literacy.
Among the key victories were awards for Best in SME Banking, Agriculture Financing, Asset Financing, Mortgage Financing, and Financial Literacy Programs. These accolades highlight Equity’s strategic commitment to empowering communities through inclusive financial solutions and support services. The bank’s initiatives, including entrepreneurship training, digital literacy programs, and financial education tailored for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), played a critical role in securing these recognitions.
Equity’s sustained investment in social responsibility and community empowerment also drew acclaim, reinforcing its mission to foster economic resilience at the grassroots level. The bank was additionally recognized as the first runner-up in Product Marketing and earned second runner-up positions in categories such as Mobile Banking, Retail Banking, Trade Financing, Bank with the Lowest Tariff, and Best Bank in Tier 1.
The awards ceremony was a double celebration for Equity Group as its Group Managing Director and CEO, Dr. James Mwangi, was named CEO of the Year. This honor acknowledged his visionary leadership and enduring contribution to transforming the banking landscape in Kenya and beyond.
