Kenyan businesses looking to expand into Asian markets will have a golden opportunity at IndoNEX 2025, the third edition of the Indonesia-Kenya Business and Education Expo, scheduled for November 6–7, 2025, at the Trademark Hotel, Nairobi.
The event has grown exponentially since its debut in 2023, expanding from nine participating companies to 27 exhibitors in 2025. Themed “Grow Your Business with Indonesia,” this year’s expo aims to deepen trade relations as bilateral trade between the two nations hits $500 million.
Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy with a GDP of $1.4 trillion, offers a vast market of 284 million people. Its strategic position makes it a key entry point to the broader Asian market — home to more than half of the world’s population.
“Indonesia is not just one market; it’s your entry point to all of Asia,” said a spokesperson from the Indonesian Embassy in Nairobi. “For Kenyan businesses in agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and services, Indonesian partnerships can transform regional presence into continental growth.”
IndoNEX has proven its value: the 2023 edition generated $1.12 million in potential transactions, which almost doubled to $2.15 million in 2024, with over 400 participants attending. The 2025 expo aims to surpass $3 million in potential deals, emphasizing business matchmaking and long-term collaboration.
The exhibition will feature Indonesian companies from six key sectors aviation, agro-technology, FMCG, hospitality, mining, and education. Additionally, a dedicated education fair will showcase fully-funded scholarships from top Indonesian universities, including Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November, Atma Jaya University, and President University.
With Indonesia positioning itself as a global manufacturing hub and home to the ASEAN headquarters, Kenyan businesses partnering through IndoNEX 2025 can leverage these connections to access the entire East African region and beyond.
