The Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) has issued a public notice urging landowners in several Nairobi sub-counties to register their property titles in the county’s Land Rates Database. This move aims to streamline land administration and ensure that all properties are properly captured for valuation and billing purposes.
Acting County Secretary and County Head of Public Service, Godfrey Akumali, announced on Saturday, May 24, that the registration process targets properties in Kasarani, Embakasi East, Embakasi West, Embakasi Central, and Embakasi North sub-counties. He called on residents with unregistered land titles to visit designated centers to have their property details officially recorded.
Landowners in Ruai and Njiru wards have been directed to submit their documentation at the Ruai Customer Care Centre (CCC), located near the Njiru Deputy County Commissioner’s offices. Meanwhile, residents of Mwiki, Kasarani, and Clay City wards should head to the Kasarani Sub-County offices, within the Kasarani DCC compound.
For those living in Utawala, Mihang’o, Embakasi, and Upper and Lower Savannah wards, document submission is set for the Embakasi East Sub-County offices at the Embakasi Social Hall along Embakasi Road.
Embakasi West sub-county offices on Church Road off Moi Drive will serve title holders from Umoja Phases 1 and 2, Kariobangi South, and Mowlem wards, but only for the KCC Settlement Scheme. Embakasi Central sub-county offices on Spine Road at Kayole’s Stage One will handle registrations from Matopeni/Spring Valley, Kayole North, South, Central, and Komarock wards. Those in Embakasi North can report to the Dandora Phase 1 offices (formerly HDD offices) near Wamwari’s stage.
County officers will be present at all locations to assist with land valuation, rates inquiries, and collect feedback on the billing process. Landowners must present a copy of their title deed, national ID, KRA PIN certificate, and a recent passport photo.
Akumali encouraged residents to utilize the decentralized registration centers and open county rate payment accounts, noting this will enhance service delivery and compliance with county land regulations.
