Kenya has officially inaugurated its national pavilion at the 2025 Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), marking a major push to promote locally made products and boost regional trade. The Kenyan delegation, coordinated by the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA), features 19 export-ready enterprises spanning multiple sectors.
This year’s participation underscores Kenya’s commitment to deepening its trade ties with Tanzania and the broader East African region. The showcased sectors include tea, coffee, textiles and apparel, leather goods, handicrafts, natural herbs, and an array of manufactured products all proudly made in Kenya. These goods reflect Kenya’s rich industrial and cultural heritage while aligning with international quality standards.
“The DITF provides an ideal platform for Kenyan businesses to access new markets, attract investment, and showcase the country’s manufacturing potential,” said a KEPROBA representative at the opening ceremony. “We are here to position Kenya as a source of high-quality, competitive products.”
Supporting the Kenyan businesses at the fair are several key government agencies that play a vital role in trade facilitation and regulation. These include the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade), and the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA). Their presence ensures that participating enterprises are well-supported in matters of compliance, customs, and trade logistics.
The DITF, one of the largest trade exhibitions in the region, attracts participants from across Africa and beyond, offering a valuable networking and business development platform. For Kenya, it represents not only an opportunity to strengthen commercial ties with Tanzania but also a step towards enhancing intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework.
With a vibrant and diverse showcase, Kenya’s pavilion is already drawing considerable attention from buyers and investors. The event is expected to unlock new export opportunities for local enterprises and foster stronger bilateral trade relations between Kenya and its East African neighbors.
