The State Department for Diaspora Affairs (SDDA), through its Diaspora Placement Agency (DPA), has announced new job opportunities in the Caribbean region. In a statement released via its official X account, the department invited qualified Kenyan citizens to apply for positions in key sectors including energy, statistics, agriculture, and engineering.
To be eligible, applicants must hold relevant degree qualifications. The department has asked interested candidates to submit their updated CVs, degree certificates, and a copy of their passport Bio-Data Page or Kenyan national ID. The deadline for applications is set for May 30, 2025.
For more information or clarifications, applicants are encouraged to contact kazimajuu@diaspora.go.ke.
In the announcement, the department emphasized that DPA is the only authorized agency managing these recruitment opportunities and warned against engaging with third-party agents who may demand recruitment fees. The SDDA reaffirmed that no recruitment fees are required for these positions.
The State Department for Diaspora Affairs operates under the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs and was established following a 2022 directive by President William Ruto. The department was created to strengthen the government’s engagement with the Kenyan Diaspora and to provide a framework for protecting their rights and promoting their welfare abroad.
In addition to job placements, the SDDA offers a wide range of services to Kenyan citizens living or traveling abroad. These include consular assistance for Kenyans in distress, and the authentication of documents such as academic credentials, marriage and divorce certificates, adoption papers, birth and death certificates, court orders, driving licences, police clearance reports, and medical certificates.
This latest initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering Kenyans abroad and utilizing their expertise to foster national development. The job opportunities in the Caribbean not only present a chance for individual career growth but also serve as a strategic move to strengthen international ties and promote Kenya’s global presence.
Kenyan professionals interested in working abroad are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure their applications are submitted before the deadline.
