Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a scheduled power interruption affecting various parts of seven counties on Wednesday as part of ongoing maintenance efforts. The power outage is expected to occur at different times between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Nairobi County, residents in Mirema, Lumumba Drive, USIU, Thome 5, Safari Park View East, and parts of TRM will be without electricity. Other affected areas include sections of Jogoo Road, Burma Market, Kaloleni, Mary Immaculate Hospital, and Heshima Road. The outage will also impact Moi Education Centre, Wilson Airport, T-Mall, Skyline Mall, and nearby locations.
In Kajiado County, extensive areas such as Rongai, Tuala, Kimani Road, Nazarene University, Laiser Hill, Maxwell University, Fatima Hospital, Kiserian, Birika, Kipeto, and the Ostrich Farm are among those slated for the daylong blackout. The interruptions in this region are expected to run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Uasin Gishu County will experience power cuts between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm in Lower Mugunga, Majengo, Smokin Wanjala, and surrounding areas including Cheroroget and Mogobich.
In Vihiga County, outages from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm will affect Solongo Polytechnic, parts of Chavakali and Mbale Markets, Hams Hotel, and Madegwa Village.
Embu County will see power disruptions from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm in areas such as Kivwe Market, Manyatta, Nembure, and Ngai Ndethia.
In Nyeri County, areas including Ngandu, Thangathi, Gikore, General China, and several schools and markets will have no power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Lastly, Kiambu County residents in Gatitu, Kinoo, Gichecheni, Ngoingwa, Mangu High, and surrounding areas will also face outages throughout the day.
KPLC emphasized that the planned interruptions are part of routine system maintenance aimed at enhancing service reliability. Customers are advised to take necessary precautions and treat all electrical installations as live during the outage period.
