The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has informed stakeholders of a planned disruption to its Integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) on Sunday, October 12, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance.
In a notice issued on Saturday, KRA announced that the system will be unavailable for eight hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as part of efforts to enhance system performance and reliability. The authority apologized for the inconvenience and advised users to plan their operations accordingly.
“Please be advised that there will be a scheduled maintenance of iCMS from Sunday, October 12, 2025, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We regret any inconvenience caused,” KRA stated.
The planned maintenance will affect all internal and external users, including importers, exporters, clearing agents, and shipping lines who rely on the iCMS platform for customs operations. During the maintenance period, users will not be able to access the system or process customs documentation.
The iCMS is KRA’s centralized digital platform for managing customs operations such as import and export declarations, cargo clearance, and communication with stakeholders. By digitizing customs processes, the system enables real-time tracking, faster document processing, and seamless payment of duties.
Since its rollout, the iCMS has significantly modernized Kenya’s customs management, reducing paperwork, enhancing transparency, and minimizing delays at ports of entry. It also integrates multiple stakeholders, including the Kenya Ports Authority and shipping lines, to ensure better coordination and oversight.
KRA has described the iCMS as a key pillar in its drive to modernize trade facilitation and align with World Customs Organization (WCO) standards. The temporary maintenance is expected to improve system efficiency and support Kenya’s goal of achieving seamless and transparent cross-border trade operations.
