The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced key leadership changes. These changes take effect from September 11, 2025.
The Authority says the appointments will support its reform agenda. They are designed to enhance efficiency, strengthen accountability, and improve revenue collection.
Nancy Ngetich Confirmed as Commissioner
KRA confirmed the appointment of Nancy Ngetich as the Commissioner for Shared Services Department.
Ngetich had served in the role in an acting capacity since February 2023. She led reforms in human resources, aligned staff performance with KRA’s 9th Corporate Plan, and promoted technology use to boost revenue.
Her career includes serving as Deputy Commissioner, Policy and International Affairs in Customs and Border Control. She also worked at Ernst & Young LLP as a senior manager in Customs and Tax Advisory.
Ngetich is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya.
Rispah Simiyu Moves to Treasury
The Authority also announced changes in the Large and Medium Taxpayers Department.
Rispah Simiyu has been seconded to the National Treasury & Economic Planning. Her move is expected to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.
In the meantime, Doreen Mbingi, Deputy Commissioner for Compliance in East and South Nairobi, has been appointed to act as head of the department.
KRA’s Commitment to Reform
KRA congratulated both Ngetich and Mbingi. It also urged taxpayers and stakeholders to continue offering support and cooperation.
The Authority said the leadership changes reflect its culture of reform and innovation. They are expected to improve organizational performance and build public trust.
KRA reaffirmed its commitment to revenue mobilization. It promised to deliver efficient, fair, and transparent services to all taxpayers.
