Royal Media Services (RMS) Group Editorial Director Linus Kaikai is among 916 petitioners who are set to be admitted to the Bar as Advocates of the High Court of Kenya.
This development was confirmed through a gazette notice issued on Sunday, October 26, by the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary. Kaikai’s name appears as entry number 394 in the official list of petitioners.
“Pursuant to section 15(2) of the Advocates Act, the public is notified that the following nine hundred and sixteen (916) persons have petitioned for admission as Advocates of the High Court of Kenya,” the notice reads in part.
According to the notice, any member of the public or institution who wishes to raise an objection to the admission of any of the petitioners must do so in writing to the Chief Registrar within 30 days from the date of the notice.
Once the vetting period concludes, and provided there are no valid objections, the petitioners will take the Oath of Admission and sign the Roll of Advocates, officially granting them the right to practice law in Kenya.
Under Section 15(3) of the Advocates Act, the Chief Justice is mandated to hear all petitions for admission within 90 days from the date of gazettement.
For Kaikai, this marks yet another milestone in a career already defined by excellence in journalism and public service. His pending admission to the Bar underscores a growing trend of media professionals venturing into law — blending communication expertise with legal insight to influence policy, justice, and governance in Kenya.
