Residents of Mogotio Constituency in Baringo County have received a significant boost in access to government services following the launch of a Huduma Centre in the area. The new facility was officially opened by Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, marking the establishment of Kenya’s 59th Huduma Centre.
Speaking during the launch, CS Ruku emphasised the government’s commitment to decentralising services and enhancing public service delivery. “The government is bringing public services closer to Kenyans, and this time it is happening in Mogotio,” he said. “Citizen-centred services need to be timely and efficient for the people.”
The new Mogotio Huduma Centre is expected to transform service delivery for thousands of residents who previously had to travel long distances to Nakuru City or Kabarnet Town to access essential government services. It was established through a collaborative effort between the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board and Huduma Kenya.
Huduma Centres are designed as one-stop shops for public services, offering a wide range of functions from various government ministries, departments, and agencies. Services available include application and replacement of birth and death certificates, national ID registration, tax services, NHIF and NSSF registrations, and many more.
With the addition of the Mogotio branch, Huduma Kenya now boasts 59 centres countrywide, a testament to the government’s ongoing efforts to bring services closer to the people and promote digital transformation in public service delivery.
CS Ruku encouraged residents to take full advantage of the centre, noting that such facilities are critical in improving public satisfaction and trust in government institutions. “With this centre, Mogotio residents will now access over 200 government services efficiently and under one roof,” he said.
The launch underscores the government’s broader agenda of enhancing public service accessibility, particularly in rural and underserved areas, and ensuring that no Kenyan is left behind in accessing essential services.
