Nyandarua leaders have pledged to put aside political wrangles and work together for the county’s growth and prosperity. The leaders Michael Muchira (Jororoko), Njuguna Kiaraho (Olkalou), and Zachary Thuku (Kinangop) declared that the time for division was over, stressing that unity was the only path to meaningful development.
Speaking during a joint appearance, the MPs admitted that years of infighting had stalled progress, denying residents critical services and opportunities. They acknowledged that political rivalry had shifted focus away from development, leaving Nyandarua lagging behind other counties.
“We’ve wasted enough time on petty politics and selfish interests. It is now time to put Nyandarua first,” said Michael Muchira, underscoring the leaders’ commitment to a new spirit of cooperation.
Kinangop MP Zachary Thuku echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that residents expected tangible results. “There is no time for empty talk anymore. People want results, and we are ready to work together to deliver,” he said.
The leaders highlighted several transformative projects as key pillars of Nyandarua’s growth. These include the proposed Nyandarua University, a new Level 5 hospital, and major road upgrades in Olkalou. They noted that such initiatives would only succeed if leaders put aside personal interests and worked collectively to harness national government programs.
Olkalou MP Njuguna Kiaraho stressed that political unity was not just for leaders but also for the people. He urged residents to shun divisive politics and rally behind development-driven leadership, adding that peace and cooperation were essential for sustainable progress.
The leaders’ declaration comes at a crucial time when counties across Kenya are competing for resources and investment. By presenting a united front, Nyandarua hopes to attract more funding and accelerate service delivery.
“We cannot afford to look back. The future of Nyandarua lies in cooperation, not conflict,” said Muchira.
As Nyandarua embarks on this new chapter, the leaders called on citizens to embrace unity and hold them accountable for results. Their vow to prioritize growth over rivalry signals a fresh start for a county long held back by political divisions.
