The National Youth Service (NYS) has unveiled a promising international employment opportunity for its graduates, targeting skilled fabricators for positions in Dubai and the broader United Arab Emirates.
In an official statement posted on X, NYS revealed that its Employment Liaison Office had successfully identified 60 job vacancies for trained fabricators, marking a significant milestone in its mission to link youth with global job markets. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the economic well-being of NYS graduates while providing them with vital international work experience.
“This is your chance to work with top employers, gain international experience, and earn a salary,” the NYS stated. The selected candidates will receive a basic monthly salary of Ksh51,087 and will be contracted for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal.
To qualify, applicants must be NYS graduates with a Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Additionally, candidates must have completed a course in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering (Production), or another metal fabrication-related course.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints—crucial skills for working in a multicultural and industrial environment.
Those who pass the job assessment but lack valid travel documents need not worry, as NYS has pledged to fast-track the processing of passports for successful applicants.
The NYS emphasized that this opportunity underscores its ongoing commitment to connecting its graduates with job placements both locally and abroad. “We are committed to linking NYS graduates to opportunities both locally and overseas,” the statement read.
