The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications for two key positions, including Chief Serjeant-at-Arms (PSC 15) and Director of Audit, Appropriations, and General Purpose Committee Service. The notice, issued on Monday, November 10, by PSC Secretary Jeremiah Nyegenye, seeks experienced and results-oriented individuals for a five-year term, renewable for an additional term.
The Chief Serjeant-at-Arms will oversee managerial, operational, and financial planning across all parliamentary functions. This includes supervising the Chamber, Public Gallery, and coordinating operational and liaison duties. The role also involves guiding event management and support services within Parliament.
Applicants for the Chief Serjeant-at-Arms position must hold a master’s degree in security or criminology, have at least 15 years of experience, and a minimum of 12 years in disciplined forces. Candidates must be computer literate, possess a certificate of exemplary service, and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
The Director of Audit, Appropriations, and General Purpose Committee Service will lead the directorate, providing strategic direction in legislative and procedural services, committee services, and the broader Parliamentary Service Commission. Applicants should hold a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, at least 15 years of professional experience (including five in senior management), and a certificate in the Strategic Leadership Development Course. Knowledge of parliamentary procedure, standing orders, communication skills, and constitutional understanding are also required.
Interested individuals must submit a completed Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form (Form 1J), available on the Parliament website or from the office of the Head of the Commission Secretariat. Applications can be delivered physically to the office of the Head of the Commission Secretary or emailed as a PDF attachment to Parliament’s application email.
All applications must be received by Monday, November 24. Incomplete applications or those not submitted using Form 1J will not be considered.
