Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced that several areas across seven counties will face scheduled power interruptions on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The outages, which will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in most areas, are part of routine system maintenance aimed at improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply.
The affected counties include Nairobi, Mombasa, Nandi, Bungoma, Siaya, Nyeri, and Kiambu.
In Nairobi, power will be cut from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in areas such as Ngando, Chief Camp, Toyota, Showground, Ayany East, parts of Jamuhuri and Dagoretti Corner, Mama Wahu Road, Gando Catholic Church, Atlanta Ground, Jamuhuri CITAM Church, and the Nairobi City Council Houses East.
Nandi County will see outages in Kipyesh, Kurgung, Tulwo, Kimungoror, Chepterwai, Kamason, and Kamobo, all between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Bungoma, residents in Chebwai, Matete, Pan Africa Chemicals, Sango, Chabadiah, and Kaburengu should expect power cuts during the same time window.
Siaya County will also be affected, with disruptions expected in Mbaga Mission, Bishop Okoth Mbaga Girls, Hawinga, Mwer, Boro Market, Kodiere, Pisoko, Rabar Market, and Sidundo.
A long list of areas in Nyeri County is set to experience power outages. These include Ngandu Village, Kiawanduha Village, Thangathi Village, Unjiru Village, Grando Kago, Ichuga Secondary School, and several other surrounding villages and institutions.
In Kiambu, facilities and areas such as St. Mulumba Hospital, Kevian Industries, Capwell Industries, Chania Feeds, Gretsa University, and Kenya Nut, among others, will be affected.
Lastly, parts of Mombasa including Bohora Flats, Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School, and NITA will experience disruptions between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
KPLC urges affected customers to plan accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused, assuring the public that these planned interruptions are essential for maintaining a reliable power supply.
