The Public Service Commission (PSC) has introduced a new Employee Satisfaction and Workplace Environment Survey. The survey runs from September 8 to September 20, 2025 and targets all public servants.
Purpose of the Survey
According to PSC Chief Executive Officer Anthony Muchiri, the survey will measure how satisfied employees are with their workplace. It will also review engagement, organizational culture, and overall well-being.
The results will help the Commission create a baseline employee satisfaction index. This index will guide future policies to improve efficiency, workplace conditions, and governance.
Legal Mandate
The survey is in line with Section 62 of the PSC Act, 2017. This law requires the Commission to ensure that the public service is effective and delivers quality services.
Who Can Participate?
The survey covers all government officers working under the PSC. This includes:
- Constitutional commissions and independent offices
- Ministries and state departments
- Statutory commissions and authorities
- State corporations and Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs)
- Public universities
- Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions
How to Take the Survey
PSC has directed all authorised officers and human resource heads to share the notice with their staff. The survey is online and available on the Commission’s website.
It takes less than 30 minutes to complete. PSC has also assured participants that all responses will remain confidential.
Why It Matters
The feedback will guide reforms in the public sector. With the data collected, the Commission aims to create a better workplace, improve employee satisfaction, and enhance service delivery to Kenyans.
“Your input is invaluable,” the PSC stated, urging employees to take part in the survey.
