President William Ruto has said Kenya’s economy is finally stabilising after months of sustained recovery efforts. Speaking after meeting leaders from the Lower Eastern region at State House, Nairobi, ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations set for October 20 at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County, Ruto expressed optimism about the country’s economic trajectory.
Through a statement shared on his official X account on Friday, October 10, 2025, the Head of State said his administration has made significant progress in restoring investor confidence, reducing inflation, and lowering the cost of living.
“We have come a long way in stabilising our economy. The task ahead now is to accelerate our economic growth and create wealth and jobs,” Ruto stated.
The President attributed the progress to strong collaboration between the national government, the private sector, and county administrations. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that ordinary citizens benefit directly from economic reforms through job creation, easier access to credit, and improved infrastructure across the country.
“This calls for our collective commitment and focus. We will march on together for the long-term transformation of Kenya,” he added.
During the meeting, Ruto hosted several leaders from the Ukambani region to discuss development priorities, investment opportunities, and ongoing infrastructure projects. Among the attendees was Mwingi West MP Charles Ngusya Nguna, a Wiper Democratic Movement legislator allied to Kalonzo Musyoka.
Ruto welcomed Nguna’s decision to work with the government, terming it a show of unity for development.
“I thank Mwingi West MP Charles Ngusya Nguna for his bold move to join our team to push forward the development agenda in his constituency,” said the President.
The meeting comes as preparations intensify for the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kitui, where Ruto is expected to highlight his administration’s achievements in driving equitable development and inclusive economic growth across all regions of Kenya.
