President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted Mozambique Prime Minister Maria Benvinda Levy at State House, Nairobi, in a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Kenya and Mozambique.
The meeting underscored the growing partnership between the two nations, focusing on areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, and regional security. President Ruto emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost intra-African commerce.
Also present during the discussions were Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi, and Foreign Affairs PS Korir Song’Oei. Their presence highlighted Kenya’s commitment to advancing diplomatic engagement and exploring new avenues for collaboration with southern African countries.
Prime Minister Benvinda was accompanied by Mozambique’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Jeronimo Chivavi, and other senior government officials. The delegation expressed appreciation for Kenya’s role in fostering peace and economic cooperation across the region.
The visit reflects a continued effort to deepen Kenya-Mozambique relations, building upon existing agreements on trade, education, and maritime cooperation. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working closely on mutual development goals and enhancing people-to-people connections between the two nations.
This engagement marks another milestone in President Ruto’s diplomatic outreach to strengthen Kenya’s presence and partnerships across Africa.
