The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has officially launched the 2026/1447 Hajj season with the release of an accredited list of agencies authorised to facilitate the pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah.
The announcement, made at SUPKEM’s Nairobi headquarters, features over a dozen recognised Hajj groups and agencies drawn from across Kenya. Each agency has undergone a strict vetting process in line with standards set by both SUPKEM and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, ensuring they meet international requirements for health, safety, and customer service.
“These agencies have been thoroughly vetted to guarantee a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling journey for every Kenyan pilgrim,” said SUPKEM National Chairman, Al-Hajj Hassan ole Naado. He emphasised the importance of avoiding unauthorised operators, warning that such dealings could lead to financial loss, logistical problems, or denial of entry into Saudi Arabia due to incomplete or invalid documentation.
Accredited agencies will oversee all critical travel logistics, including flight bookings, accommodation arrangements, ground transport, and on-the-ground guidance throughout the pilgrimage. SUPKEM has assured the Muslim community that it will continue to closely monitor agency performance during the season, addressing complaints promptly and maintaining transparency.
The Council noted that the publication of the accredited list is part of a broader strategy to protect pilgrims from exploitation while fostering trust in the Hajj preparation process. “We have worked closely with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj to ensure full compliance with all requirements,” Naado said.
Hajj, one of Islam’s five pillars, is a sacred obligation for all able-bodied Muslims who can afford it at least once in their lifetime. Every year, millions of Muslims worldwide gather in Makkah to perform the rites over a five-day period, marking a deeply significant act of faith and unity.
The full list of approved agencies, along with their directors and verified contact details, is available through SUPKEM’s Nairobi offices, official website, and social media channels. SUPKEM has pledged to provide timely updates and guidance throughout the season to help pilgrims prepare for what it describes as a “journey of a lifetime.”
