Transfer Car Ownership Online via NTSA

Kenyans can now transfer car ownership fully online through the NTSA service portal on eCitizen. This eliminates long queues and multiple visits to NTSA offices.

Steps for the Seller

1. Log in to your eCitizen account.
2. Open the NTSA service portal.
3. Select the vehicle to transfer.
4. Upload the original logbook (PDF).
5. Enter the buyer’s details.
6. Pay for the transfer and confirm submission.

Steps for the Buyer

1. Log in to eCitizen.
2. Open the NTSA service portal.
3. Accept or decline the transfer notification.
4. Fill in required details and tick the declaration box.
5. Submit for approval.

Once approved, logbooks are issued within three working days. The buyer collects the new logbook from the selected NTSA centre by presenting the old logbook and ID.
